Do Candles Make Good Wedding Centerpieces?
| Published in Wedding Party Thoughts
Decorating your wedding tables can be a lot of fun or not so much. If you’re not a very creative person, you might be more clueless than excited. All you need is a little bit of inspiration and direction. With that, you can start creating your own decorations and loving the results.
Candles and flowers are probably the two most common wedding centerpieces. They are often included on the tables, usually both, but do they really fit that well? Are they a must for your wedding table centerpieces? The truth of the matter is that sometimes candles work, and sometimes they don’t.
Traditionally, you will find a candle in the center of the table. This is how it often is at most weddings and restaurants as well. It adds ambiance to the setting, especially in a darker room. In that case, it becomes necessary for light at the tables. On the other hand, candles might not work as well on outdoor tables. Not only do you not need any light, unless it’s late at night, but even a light breeze might blow out the candles. In this case, flowers and other centerpieces might be a better choice.
If you do decide to go with candles, you don’t have to go with just a single candle. Adding lots of candles will look very beautiful. Scatter many different sized candles throughout the center of the table. Add some flowers in the center or a few stems here and there for a beautiful look.
Floating candles have become very popular. You can have a few small balls with a floating candle in each, or you can have a large bowl with several floating candles. With either choice, you put pretty rocks in the bottom, or even flowers in the water. Just be careful that nothing has a chance to set on fire.
Making beautiful wedding centerpieces is possible. Take your time choosing what you want and get inspired. Look at pictures in magazines, on the web, and at other weddings. When you can be satisfied with your wedding centerpieces and all the other parts of your wedding, you can enjoy your wedding!
